Seven Years of Powering Progress in Polillo

Seven years ago, reliable power became more than a service in Polillo, it became a catalyst for progress.

Since 2019, Renesons Energy Polillo (REP) has helped power homes, businesses, schools, and essential services across the island, supporting communities as they grow, thrive, and build a better future.

As REP marks seven years of powering progress in Polillo, the milestone reflects a shared vision championed by President and CEO Gerwyn P. See and Co-Founder and Executive Vice President Sheryl G. See: empowering underserved communities and creating lasting impact through reliable energy.

As MASE Holdings Inc. President and CEO, Gerwyn P. See often reminds the organization:

“We are here to create light. Not only through power and the projects we endeavor, but through the human spirit.”

Over the past seven years, that light has extended far beyond electricity; powering opportunities, strengthening communities, and helping shape a better future for Polillo.

Creating a Lasting Impact

Looking back on REP’s seven-year journey, the people behind its operations carry with them memories of challenges overcome, milestones achieved, and communities served.

For Mr. Clint Sangalang, Site Administrative Services Manager, the greatest source of pride comes from seeing the lasting impact REP has made on Polillo.

For Engr. Arman Blas, Plant Operations Assistant Manager, one of the most rewarding parts of the journey has been earning the trust of the communities REP serves and witnessing their growth through the years.

The same sense of purpose continues to drive the team every day. For Engr. JM Millena, the impact of their work extends beyond operations and infrastructure, it is reflected in the lives of the people they serve.

Over the years, the team has faced challenges that tested its resilience, from navigating the uncertainties of the pandemic to ensuring uninterrupted operations in an island community.

Through it all, one commitment has remained unchanged: providing reliable electricity that communities can depend on.

Their stories reflect what REP’s first seven years have truly been about empowering underserved communities, creating opportunities, and helping build a stronger future for Polillo.

Growing Together

As REP grew alongside the island, the impact of reliable energy became increasingly visible across Polillo.

Businesses gained greater confidence to operate and expand. Residents experienced improved access to essential services. Opportunities emerged for communities to grow and thrive.

As Engr. JM Millena shared, “Reliable electricity has helped improve the quality of life for residents and created opportunities for local businesses to grow.” Over the years, these changes have become increasingly evident across the island. For Engr. Arman Blas, Plant Operations Assistant Manager, the transformation can be seen in the growth of local businesses, improvements in transportation, the rise of tourism, and the emergence of new livelihood opportunities, all supported by dependable power. He noted that as communities continue to progress, so too does the need for reliable electricity to sustain future development.

Mr. Clint Sangalang echoed this sentiment, noting that reliable power has contributed to economic activity, supported local enterprises, and helped create opportunities for the community.

Beyond Power: Building Communities and Stewardship

At REP, powering progress extends beyond delivering reliable electricity. Through environmental initiatives, employee engagement, and responsible corporate citizenship, the company continues to create lasting value for the communities it serves.

From coconut tree planting and coastal cleanup efforts to promoting employee wellness and supporting local development, REP remains committed to helping build a more sustainable and resilient Polillo. This commitment was further recognized in 2024, when REP was named among the Top 3 Real Property Taxpayers in the Corporate Sector.

As REP celebrates seven years of service, the milestone reflects not only the progress made, but also its enduring commitment to powering better tomorrows for Polillo—because energy is more than electricity; it is the power to improve lives, strengthen communities, and enable more people to thrive.

Together with its partners and the communities it serves, REP remains committed to powering progress, creating opportunities, and helping build brighter tomorrows for Polillo.

Because at its core, energy is more than electricity. It is the power to improve lives, strengthen communities, and enable a future where more people can thrive.
