Project Manager

The Project Manager is responsible for leading the planning, development, and implementation of projects related to coconut oil milling operations. The role integrates business development, strategic planning, and operational management to ensure efficient project execution, optimal plant performance, and sustainable growth of the coconut oil mill business.

The position oversees feasibility studies, plant operations coordination, project implementation, and stakeholder management while ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with company objectives.

KEY RESULTS AREAS (KRA)

  1. Project Planning and Development
  • Lead project feasibility studies including technical, financial, and operational viability.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams during plant development.
  • Monitor project milestones and ensure adherence to project schedules.
  • Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  1. Business Development and Market Expansion
  • Identify potential business opportunities within the coconut oil and related industries.
  • Conduct market research and industry analysis.
  • Assist in developing strategic partnerships with suppliers, distributors, and investors.
  • Prepare business proposals, investment presentations, and financial projections.
  • Support negotiations and contract development with key stakeholders.
  1. Operational Planning and Process Optimization
  • Develop operational plans for coconut oil mill production.
  • Coordinate with operations teams to optimize production processes.
  • Monitor plant capacity utilization, efficiency, and productivity.
  • Recommend process improvements and operational efficiencies.
  • Ensure proper supply chain coordination for copra sourcing and product distribution.
  1. Financial and Budget Management
  • Prepare project budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Monitor project expenditures and cost controls.
  • Evaluate financial feasibility of expansion or operational initiatives.
  • Prepare financial reports for management review.
  1. Compliance and Regulatory Management
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with government agencies for necessary permits and licenses.
  • Implement safety standards and operational protocols within the mill.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards for coconut oil production.
  1. Stakeholder and Team Coordination
  • Coordinate with engineering, operations, procurement, and finance teams.
  • Manage relationships with contractors, suppliers, and consultants.
  • Provide project updates and reports to senior management.
  • Facilitate cross-functional communication for smooth project implementation.

QUALIFICATIONS

A. EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or Agricultural Engineering), Business Administration, Agribusiness Management, or other related fields.
  • A Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA), Project Management, or related discipline is an advantage but not required.
  • Specialized coursework or training related to agro-industrial processing, manufacturing management, or supply chain management is highly desirable.

B. WORK EXPERIENCE

  • At least 5–8 years of relevant professional experience in project management, operations, or business development within manufacturing, agro-processing, or coconut oil milling industry.
  • Proven experience in managing industrial or plant-related projects from feasibility study, planning, implementation, and operational turnover.
  • Experience in business development initiatives, including market analysis, partnership development, and investment proposal preparation.
  • Exposure to plant operations, production planning, and supply chain management, particularly in agricultural commodity processing, is an advantage.

C. TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Strong knowledge of coconut oil milling processes, copra procurement, and downstream product processing.
  • Proficiency in project planning, scheduling, and monitoring tools.
  • Ability to conduct financial analysis, project feasibility studies, and investment evaluations.
  • Understanding of industrial plant operations, process optimization, and productivity improvement.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance, environmental standards, and safety requirements applicable to manufacturing facilities.
  • Competence in data analysis, reporting, and operational performance monitoring.

D. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent project management certification is an advantage.
  • Professional license such as Registered Engineer (PRC License) is preferred for engineering graduates.
  • Training or certification in Operations Management, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Process Improvement is a plus.
  • Certification related to Food Safety, Quality Management Systems (ISO), or Environmental Management is beneficial.

E. OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Willingness to travel frequently to project sites, coconut sourcing areas, and operational facilities.
  • Ability to work in field and plant environments when necessary.
  • Strong understanding of Philippine agricultural commodity markets, particularly coconut and copra supply chains, is an advantage.
  • Must possess high integrity, professionalism, and commitment to organizational goals.
