Project Engineer

JOB SUMMARY:

The Project Engineer oversees all aspects of project implementation, from planning and budgeting to execution and reporting, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with all relevant standards and regulations. This role coordinates project teams, tracks progress, manages changes in scope or schedule, and maintains clear communication with stakeholders and clients. The position requires strong organizational and technical skills, proficiency with design software, and a solid grounding in construction processes. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinating, tracking, and reporting the status of project implementation.
  • Outlines the project budget based on requirements and tracks costs to deliver the project within estimated limits.
  • Prepares a detailed project plan to schedule key milestones, workstreams, and activities.
  • Manages the delivery of the project according to the approved implementation plan.
  • Tracks project progress and provides regular status reports to the project team and key stakeholders.
  • Prepares plans and permit application requirements in compliance with codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Coordinates and sets up project meetings; interfaces with technical and resource personnel to create and edit documentation.
  • Maintains project team accomplishments by communicating information in team meetings and reports, escalating any impediments to project completion.
  • Manages and adjusts for any changes in project scope, schedule, and/or budget.
  • Manages relationships and communication with the client and all stakeholders, ensuring the project is delivered to their satisfaction.
  • Performs all other tasks and mandated functions assigned by his/her superior from time to time.

     

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with 3 to 5 years of experience in construction, power, or related industries.
  • Proficient in design software such as AutoCAD and SketchUp, as well as Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, testing procedures, engineering drawings, specifications, and relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate and lead engineering support activities, manage multiple projects, and balance schedules and priorities to meet strict deadlines.
  • Able to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, maintaining attention to detail and delivering results under pressure with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to travel for field assignments, including remote or rural areas, and to work flexible hours or shift schedules as required.
  • Strong initiative, adaptability, and commitment to extending work hours when necessary to achieve project goals.
  • Holds a Professional License as a Registered Civil Engineer.
