Cafe Operations Manager
Job Summary:
The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the coffee shop/café, ensuring excellent customer service, efficient workflow, and profitability. This role involves staff supervision, inventory management, quality control, and overall business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Store Operations & Efficiency

Ensure smooth daily operations of the café, including opening and closing procedures.

Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and compliance with health & safety regulations.

Optimize workflows to improve service speed and efficiency.

Implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for consistency in service and product quality.
2. Sales & Customer Experience

Drive excellent customer service and handle customer concerns effectively.

Monitor customer feedback and implement service improvements.

Train staff on upselling techniques to increase sales.

Develop and execute promotional activities to boost sales and customer engagement.
3. Staff Management & Development

Recruit, train, and manage café staff, ensuring they understand company values and standards.

Schedule staff shifts to maintain optimal workforce levels.

Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching.

Foster a positive and motivating work environment.
4. Inventory & Cost Management

Manage inventory levels to ensure sufficient stock without over-ordering.

Work with suppliers to maintain quality ingredients at the best cost.

Track and control food and beverage costs to maximize profitability.

Reduce wastage and optimize resource utilization.
5. Financial & Business Performance

Monitor daily sales, expenses, and profitability reports.

Analyze financial data to identify areas for cost-saving and revenue growth.

Set performance targets and work towards achieving them.

Implement cost-effective strategies without compromising quality.
6. Compliance & Quality Assurance

Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and labor laws.

Conduct regular quality checks on food, beverages, and service.

Enforce proper maintenance of equipment and facilities.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Hospitality, or related field (preferred).

At least 2-5 years of experience in a café, restaurant, or hospitality management role.

Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Knowledge of inventory management and cost control.

Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
