Head of Investments & Development

JOB SUMMARY:

The Head of Investments & Development shall lead the end-to-end lifecycle of strategic projects and investments of the Group — from investment origination, financial structuring, and capital raising, to project development, commercial execution, and strategic partnerships.

The role serves at the intersection of investments, finance, project development, and corporate strategy, ensuring that projects are not only financially viable and investment-ready, but are also commercially executable and aligned with the long-term strategic vision of the Group.

This position plays a critical leadership role in transforming opportunities into scalable and sustainable business platforms that contribute to the Group’s growth objectives and mission of empowering underserved communities.

The role is expected to function both as:

•     A strategic investment and capital lead responsible for investment structuring, fundraising, and financial viability; and

•     A project development and business growth driver responsible for advancing projects from concept and feasibility toward execution, operations, and long-term sustainability.

Core Mandate

Drive the successful transformation of projects into bankable, fundable, scalable, and executable investments by:

•     Structuring compelling and sustainable investment opportunities;

•     Securing and managing capital through equity, debt, grants, strategic partnerships, and blended finance structures;

•     Leading project development activities from feasibility, evaluation, and financial close through implementation readiness;

•     Establishing strong financial, commercial, and operational discipline across projects and investments;

• Supporting the Group’s long-term expansion initiatives through strategic partnerships, investor engagement, and new business development opportunities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Investment Analysis & Structuring

• Lead financial modeling, valuation analysis, feasibility studies, and investment assessments to determine project viability and commercial attractiveness.
• Develop optimal capital and financing structures that balance risk, return, scalability, and long-term sustainability.
• Conduct sensitivity analysis, scenario planning, and risk assessments to support strategic decision-making and investment readiness.

2. Capital Raising & Investor Engagement

·        Lead fundraising initiatives and capital sourcing activities for projects and corporate growth initiatives.

·        Develop investor presentations, investment memoranda, financial projections, and related fundraising materials.

·        Build and maintain strong relationships with investors, lenders, development finance institutions, banks, strategic partners, and funding agencies.

·        Support due diligence processes, negotiations, and financing documentation required for successful transaction execution.

3. Project Development & Commercial Evaluation

·        Lead the financial and commercial evaluation of projects from concept development
through financial close and implementation readiness.

·        Work closely with technical, operations, legal, and regulatory teams to align project assumptions, timelines, CAPEX/OPEX estimates, and revenue models.

·        Ensure projects are commercially viable, operationally realistic, and aligned with the Group’s strategic priorities and investment criteria.

4. Partnerships & Deal Structuring

·        Support the development and structuring of joint ventures, consortiums, strategic alliances, and special purpose vehicles (SPVs).

·        Participate in negotiations involving commercial agreements, shareholder arrangements, concession frameworks, and partnership structures.

·        Coordinate and align stakeholders across public and private sectors, including government
agencies, utilities, investors, consultants, and strategic partners.

5. Financial Monitoring & Performance Management

·        Monitor project financial performance, cash flows, funding utilization, and budget performance across projects and investments.

·        Ensure compliance with investor, lender, and internal financial reporting requirements.

·        Provide financial insights and recommendations to support operational efficiency, project optimization, and strategic decision-making.

6. Research, Strategy & Executive Decision Support

·        Conduct market research, industry analysis, and strategic assessments related to investments, infrastructure, energy, development projects, and emerging opportunities.

·        Prepare reports, dashboards, financial analyses, and executive summaries for Management, Executive Committee, and Board-level discussions.

·        Provide data-driven insights and strategic recommendations to support investment decisions, expansion initiatives, and long-term corporate planning.
