Cost Accountant

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to manage and analyze product costing, inventory valuation, and cost variances. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting pricing decisions, profitability analysis, and financial close activities while ensuring accuracy and compliance with company costing policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain cost sheets, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and standard costing records
• Analyze cost variances (materials, labor, and overhead) and identify root causes with actionable insights
• Monitor inventory valuation, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods costing
• Assist in pricing decisions, tenders, and quotation support to maintain competitiveness
• Coordinate with production, procurement, and finance teams to gather and validate cost data
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings from a cost accounting perspective
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and company costing policies
• Maintain and update costing masters within ERP systems
• Assist in cost audits, reconciliations, and statutory filings (where applicable)
• Provide analytical support for make-or-buy decisions and profitability studies

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor of Science in Accountancy or any accounting-related course
• Expertise: Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, standard costing, and variance analysis
• Experience: Hands-on experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP accounting systems, specifically Xero
